Our program will provide you with the foundational skills and knowledge to work as a nurse in the dynamic healthcare industry. Our program is also accredited by the Australian Nursing Midwifery Accreditation Council (ANMAC)

You’ll learn to provide a range of care under the supervision of a registered nurse. You will gain hands-on learning experience in our ward simulation labs as well as clinical experience through 400 hours of practical placements. You will gain skills and knowledge in:

  • medication administration
  • anatomy and physiology
  • infection control
  • intravenous injections
  • general nursing

You’ll experience the true nature and challenges of contemporary nursing practice via 400 hours of clinical placement across 5 separate placements during your course.

Our program equips you with the skills, competencies and knowledge to apply for registration as an Enrolled Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia

Commonwealth Prac Payment for VET students (CPP)

The Commonwealth Prac Payment offers nursing students support while they’re undertaking mandatory placements.

From 1 July 2025, the Commonwealth Prac Payment (CPP) can help ease cost of living pressures for Diploma of Nursing students.
The CPP (VET) is available to eligible students who are required to undertake mandatory prac placements to qualify as an Enrolled Nurse. It will support around 5,000 eligible VET students annually, providing over $300 per week during their mandatory prac placement.

Eligible Diploma of Nursing students need to:

  • be a domestic student undertaking a full-time mandatory prac placement as part of a Diploma of Nursing qualification
  • be receiving an eligible income support payment or meet a ‘need to work’ test over 4 continuous weeks in the previous study period.

The Government will administer the payment through the Department of Employment and Workplace Relations (DEWR).

Applications for CPP (VET) are now open, with payments commencing from 1 July 2025. For more information, visit Commonwealth Prac Payment (CPP) | Your Career.

The CPP (VET) is considered ordinary income. This means recipients will need to report the amounts they receive to the Australian Taxation Office as part of annual tax returns and to Centrelink or Department of Veteran’s Affairs if they are receiving income support (if required).
