On Tuesday morning our entire Shepparton campus (including staff) participated in a Fire Drill.
Our Childcare, Aged Care, and Community Services students were all involved and had acting roles within their industry. We had workers wheeling out the elderly, workers helping the blind and deaf through the (non existent) smoke! It was a great learning experience for all student and staff!
It’s important to do regular fire drills so if there ever is a fire and you need to evacuate, you know how to do it safely and calmly. In an industry like Aged Care and Childcare, you have more than just yourself to worry about, so it’s important you know how to assist residents and children safely out of the building as well as yourself.
We do these drills regularly at Partners in Training, and it’s great to see the staff and students get so involved.
