This course covers the skills and knowledge needed to provide support workers with strategies
to ensure that people with disabilities take and use medication in accordance with the
documented medication chart/treatment sheet developed by their medical practitioner.

Whilst applicable to the disability support workforce, this short course can also be undertaken
by people wanting to advance their career opportunities in a variety of other health sector roles
detailed below.

Victorian Skills First government funding is available for eligible individuals.

This short course is the perfect option for those working in:

  1. Health care where you will be able to assist in providing medication support in hospitals, clinics, or nursing homes.
  2. Disability services where you can provide support to individuals with disabilities in using medication as part of their care.
  3. Community support enabling you to assist individuals with disabilities to manage their medications in community-based settings.
  4. Residential care services where you can provide support for individuals with disabilities in group homes or supported living arrangements.
  5. Aged care giving you the ability to support older adults with disabilities to use medications as part of their care.
