This qualification reflects the role of early childhood educators who are responsible for designing and implementing the curriculum in early childhood education and care services.
These workers work to implement an approved learning framework within the requirements of the Education and Care Services National Regulations and the National Quality Standard and may have responsibility for supervision of volunteers or other staff.

In the region of 200,000 teachers and educators work in the children’s education and care sector, with most of the sector workforce being Certificate III and Diploma qualified educators.
The National Skills Commission’s 5-year employment projections to November 2023 shows employment is expected to increase by around 16,000 educators.

Please be advised that a pre-requisite of the Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care for eligibility is that you hold the CHC30113 or the CHC30121 Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care.
If you do not hold either of these Cert III level qualifications you must enrol and complete that qualification first before enrolling in the Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care.
