This qualification is designed for those wanting to work in a range of community settings and clients’ homes to provide training and support in a manner that empowers people with disabilities to achieve greater levels of independence, self reliance, community participation and wellbeing.
Workers promote a person-centered approach, work without direct supervision and may be required to supervise and/or coordinate a small team.
There has been strong employment growth in this group over the past five years (up by 15.7%, or 179,600 new jobs). It is estimated that the NDIS workforce will need to increase by up to 90,000 full-time equivalent (FTE) employees over the next five years.
