Qualification Description

This qualification reflects the role of workers with responsibility for designing, implementing and evaluating health and leisure activities, and programs for clients in one or more sector areas. Work may be in residential facilities and/or in community agencies and day centres. Workers work under supervision or as sole practitioners and may be required to plan, coordinate and evaluate other workers and work teams within broad but generally well-defined guidelines.

To achieve this qualification, the candidate must have completed at least 240 hours of work as detailed in the Assessment Requirements of the units of competency.

Further study pathways – This qualification will provide you with a pathway to CHC62015 Advanced Diploma of Community Sector Management and Bachelor of Nursing.

Employment pathways – Although it does not guarantee an employment outcome, completion of this qualification could lead to your employment in leisure and health in the aged care and community services industries in the following occupational titles:

Entry Requirements

You are required to undertake a Pre Training Review prior to enrolment to identify competencies you have previously acquired and to ascertain your suitability and appropriateness for this qualification. The Pre Training Review is designed to ensure we can help you participate in and successfully attain your desired learning outcomes.

Mandatory requirements – this qualification requires a student to hold a current and satisfactory police check to undertake work placement. You are also required to provide evidence of current and ongoing employment in the leisure and health or aged care industries.

Suitability requirements – There are no suitability requirements for this qualification.

Materials, equipment and resources – You will need access to a computer with Internet.

Workplace Experience

This qualification requires you to hold a current and satisfactory police check to undertake workplace experience. You are required to undertake a minimum of 240 hours of workplace experience through work placement for new entrants or a third party report for existing industry workers in a relevant leisure and health setting in the aged care and community services industries. Workplace experience is subject to a current and satisfactory police check.
